Alpha Bank — workplace Copilot adoption

Documented application · Deployment in Greece

What the evidence establishes

Alpha Bank’s July 2025 release describes Microsoft Copilot adoption by more than 300 employees, supported by EY Greece’s AI and Data teams. It also states a future expansion target.

Results and their limits

The release documents adoption and an expansion ambition. It does not establish an independently measured productivity return; the target must not be presented as completed deployment.

How to approach a comparable workflow

For a comparable programme, choose specific tasks such as meeting preparation or document drafting. Check permissions first, train users and measure outcomes on real work rather than counting licences.

The following is an AIStrategy.gr implementation proposal, not a description of undisclosed project architecture. Begin with a bounded task, a named operational owner and an explicit acceptance decision. Separate data preparation, model output and the final business action so each can be evaluated.

Data and operating prerequisites

Document the origin, permissions, update frequency and known gaps in the input data. Build a representative evaluation set before changing the workflow. Include difficult cases and examples that should be escalated rather than answered automatically.

Risks and human oversight

Over-permissioned files can become easier to discover. Generated summaries may omit qualifications, and time saved can be offset by verification work.

What to measure

Measure verified task time, correction effort, repeat usage and user confidence by task. Report adoption separately from financial benefit.

A practical first pilot

  1. Define the task, affected users and what a correct outcome means.
  2. Record the current baseline and build the evaluation sample.
  3. Run in advisory mode with staff reviewing the outputs.
  4. Review quality, effort, cost and incidents together before expanding.

Decision gate

Proceed only when the responsible team can explain which errors remain, who handles them and whether measured benefit survives the cost of operation and review. Revise or stop the pilot when that case is not established.
