The case, explained simply
Augmenta / CNH
Use cameras to help farm machinery apply inputs where they are needed.

What actually happened
CNH describes Augmenta’s multispectral camera and software as part of its Sense & Act technology. Sensors observe the field while machinery operates; the system helps direct and regulate application. The 2023 acquisition announcement identifies offices in Greece and the USA and integration into CNH’s precision-technology portfolio.
What the evidence does not tell us
An acquisition announcement establishes the technology and business context. It does not establish a universal reduction in fertiliser or an increase in yield for Greek farms. Crop, weather, equipment and agronomic decisions matter.
What a Greek organisation can learn
- Start with the grower and agronomist: which input is expensive, and which field variation can be measured?
- Confirm machinery compatibility, servicing and who owns the field records. Compare carefully selected plots under a written agronomic plan.
- Record input use, crop quality, yield, operating time and equipment costs over an appropriate growing period. Do not judge the system from one attractive demonstration.
Before spending money
A cooperative may be a more practical starting point than an individual purchase. Ask about shared use, calibration and support during the growing season.
