A national discussion / opening brief
Who helps the next 10,000 businesses use AI well?
A proposed structured discussion about access, practical support and evidence. The number is a discussion ambition, not a funded programme or measured commitment.
The choice to work through
Should support first reach businesses already ready to adopt AI, or those most likely to be left behind? The first route may show faster results; the second may create wider access but require more hands-on help. A serious discussion must state the trade-off, rather than promising both without resources.
Whose experience is needed
SME owners and employees; regional innovation hubs; researchers; technology providers; public-service leaders; and people able to explain costs and funding. These are proposed perspectives, not confirmed participants.
A focused 60-minute agenda
- 10 minutes: two short cases—one useful result and one disappointing test. Show costs and checking work.
- 20 minutes: compare regional access, the help a small team needs and who pays for it. Identify disagreements explicitly.
- 20 minutes: design one manageable support experiment. Specify the organisations it would serve, owner, resources and success measure.
- 10 minutes: agree what can be published, unresolved questions and a follow-up date.
Follow-up: not yet held
No discussion date or participants are confirmed. No conclusions or commitments are attributed to anyone. After an actual session, this page will record the evidence discussed, agreements, disagreements, named action owners with their agreement, and the next review date.
